This weekend, our favorite color was ORANGE! My yellow striped belts became orange belts in Taekwando. So proud of them all! Joel got a trophy for "best sparring" again - two times in a row! The girls did great. The first part of testing is performing the "forms" they have to memorize. It's just a series of movements and it changes with each belt color. The second part of testing is board breaking. Each testing uses a different type of kick or punch. This time it was a more difficult kick. The third part of testing is the sparring. My girls aren't crazy about that part, but they always seem to make it through just fine!

Girls' Dinner...
A new tradition at our house has been to let the girls plan a dinner menu from their new cookbooks. Then, they help prepare it and we celebrate our family.
Dinner #1 - Menu: Baked/Breaded Chicken Tenders (Olivia), mashed potatoes and carrots (Jillian), Sugar cookies (Delaney), and Lemon-Lime Surprise drink (Jillian). Then, mommy threw in broccoli for some green! :) Everything was so yummy and the girls had a great time.
Dinner #2 - Menu: Red beans and rice (Delaney), Lemon-Lime surprise drink (Jillian - again! :), and Choc. Chip cookies (Olivia). And, Daddy threw in some bread and butter for good measure!

Long time - no blog...
It's been too long since I've blogged about the goings-on of our family. I don't know where the time goes, sometimes!!!
Updates:
Baby "frother" is on his way and will be here soon, thus the blog's name change.
Joel is having a great school year - what a blessing!
Olivia -Our 4th grader is blossoming! She's loving Middle School and is performing in the school musical "The Pirates of Penzance."
Delaney - Turns 6 next week. It's so hard to believe! She is loving kindergarten, is reading like crazy, and keeps us busy, busy, busy.
Jillian - A very verbal 3 year old with an obsession for packing bags. She will find as many purses and bags as she can and will fill them up with little toys and goodies. It's the unpacking that's not so much fun!
I'm trying to keep this place organized and running smoothly, but that's easier said than done! My 8th graders are a joy this year - I love my classes. I'm anxious about leaving them for a couple of months, but I'm praying a good sub comes my way soon!!!

The Land Run!
The annual 3rd grade Oklahoma History Day and Land Run were last Friday. Olivia dressed as a pioneer, showed off her project in the classroom museum, danced and sang some great songs, and then got to stake her claim on a piece of Oklahoma land. She even got to bring home a deed signed by Benjamin Harrison! :) It was a wonderful day, despite the pouring down rain. Here's a taste of the fun. I'm having trouble loading the video of the singing, but I got a little bit of the Land Run!
